Community Groups
Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:00pm
The Bible (and history) is the story of God saving "a people" for Himself. The Bible knows nothing of the lone ranger, self-reliant Christians. We are called to live out our salvation with other Christians. The "rugged individual" mentality of American culture is destructive to Biblical spirituality. The phrase "one another" occurs more than 60 times in the New Testament, specifically in the context of local church life; includng "bear one another's burdens" (Gal. 6:2) and "encourage one another" (Hebrews 3:13).
Our community groups are an effort to put into practie this "one another" aspect of the Christian life in a way that cannot be done in our Sunday worship gatherings. The primary purpose is to build personal relationships, practice mutual ministry and encouragement, and practice applying the gospel to our lives.
Though mutual encouragement is the main goal, our groups are structured around a Bible study. Our study for this coming year is the "Gospel of Mark". It was developed by Dr. Timothy Keller, a well known Pastor and writer.
We meet at 6:30pm (sharp) to 8:00pm (sharp) each Wednesday.
"We will not know God, win the world, nor change deeply apart from community". Timothy Keller
